June Is Here and Here We Are

I have been putting off this blog post for a little bit now and its overdue. June is here and if you have been following our journey, you know that we had set a June 30th date to be 100% funded. As of today (6/8) we are not there.

Monthly: we are at 21%.

One Time: we are around 46%

Based on these numbers and how much we have been bringing in, we are not going to be fully funded in June. So what does that mean? It means we will keep raising funds. We are not moving now and we will be continuing to seek God’s provision. That being said, we do have other needs that have now come up and I am asking for prayer.

The past month has been incredibly stressful on us. I am a pastor at the church that is sending us so I am both staff and member which complicates things. They had originally set a June 30th date for my job to end in anticipation of us going. This would also allow them time to bring in a new pastor. That did push us to have everything raised in a year, which we were hoping we could and why we set the timeline for June 30th of this year. As June was approaching I asked if I could stay on a little longer and unfortunately the personnel committee decided that they were going to stick with their original plan. Needless to say I was/am disappointed.

Finding a job has become my number one priority right now. The biggest struggle for me is that my education is all ministry related which over qualifies me for a lot of jobs and under qualifies me for others. It puts me in a very specific skill category. Most churches are not willing to bring someone on who may only be around another year. Many secular jobs want more specific experience and education. On top of the job struggles we have had strep throat bounce around to many of our kids and our a/c broke this month as well.

I am not sharing this to seem as if I am complaining, but to ask for prayer for strength, patience, and a job. It is also worth noting, raising support is hard work. Missionaries who are planning to go, still have real life and real life struggles. I encourage you to reach out to your missionaries and support them in any way you can. We as believers are all in this together to reach the lost with the Good News. God is King over all. We trust in Him completely and know that He will guide us and provide as He sees fit. If you are interested in supporting us monthly, quarterly, or annually please email me (ben.pryce@abwe.cc) or visit our support page (www.abwe.org/prycesinafrica).
