Hey guys! It has been a whirlwind year so far. We have just finished up serving at our churches VBS this past week. Our church hosted an average of 76 kids a night! My wife and my kids were all plugged in a various stations and we all had a great time! We challenged the kids attending to raise money for some church planters our church has sent to Portland. They were able to raise over $600 for the missionary couple. (Justin and Holly Barthelmes www.forportland.org)
Vbs is an interesting thing as it draws out church members in droves and they usually serve in areas that may not normally feel equipped to handle. Yet at the end of week they see that God plays a large part in how they do. Missions is very similar. Serving is hard, especially if it is in an area that you may not feel completely equipped for. Yet God always has a way of stretching you and then showing you that with Him you can do a lot more than you think!
On the Uganda side of the world, Jacob and Carol have finished up a storage area for Bibles and other materials. Their hope is that RAU (http://www.reachingafricasunreached.org) will become a Bible distribution hub in Northern Uganda. They are currently raising funds to bring in over 23,000 Africa Study Bibles. Chrisitanbook International Outreach (https://christianbookoutreach.org/ )is helping with this. They would be primarily for those who are in leadership so they can have a multiplying effect of maturity in the church. Our part of Africa has one of the fastest growing churches in the world. CIO has commited to paying 1/3 of the cost and RAU will raise the other 2/3. We are still working on our fundraising to go. We need 100% committed support to be cleared to go to Uganda. This can be monthly, bimonthly, quarterly, annually giving. You can also commit to give starting when we leave. I would ask that you pray about this. We have picked up more partners over the last month from all over the US. We are so very thankful for you! I know Jacob and Carol are to as it gets them one step closer to having partners their with them.
